Our history
1994
Grafia is structured in Porto Alegre, on Silva Jardim Street, as an advertising and graphic design agency. Its first jobs are related to the creation of layouts for packaging, leaflets, visit cards and all kinds of graphic material. Some of its first clients are MU-MU, Companhia das Pizzas, DAKAR Tintas, Brasilata, Artecola, SESI-RS and Plug-in.
1997
The company gets closer to the virtual world, starts researching and understanding the way the new multimedia tools that showed up in the web market work. They allow the company to create a CD ROM containing information about its clients and the production of websites. Grafia’s first multimedia projects are for Ipiranga Petroquímica, RBS and Junior Archievent. After that, the company develops MU-MU’s website, something new at the moment, when not many websites existed, and Grafia’s first online presentation.
1999
Grafia extends its area of actuation and starts operating an office in Florianopolis, which complements the work done in Porto Alegre and consolidates the company as a webdesign agency. This year, the following websites are produced: Rider Extreme (Grendene), Ipiranga Petroquímica, Melissa (Grendene), Kioske do Pirata (Santa Catarina) and SULNATIVO, the greatest surf shop label of the Brazilian State of Santa Catarina.
2000
During the famous “internet bubble” period in Brazil, Grafia participates on the portal Vírgula project (from Jovem Pan radio), being responsible for the Inside/Vírgula website, which was dedicated to the following themes: radical sports, culture, waves and weather reports and photo shootings. And also inaugurates the Associação Brasileira de Tubos Poliolefínicos (ABPE) website.
2001
After a well elaborated strategic plan, the company expanded its business boundaries and started operating e-commerce tools. The first online store was Melissa’s, as part of a website created to commercialize the brand’s products, serving clients everywhere in Brazil. This was the first online shop of the country, with an operation that has been totally managed by Grafia’s office in Florianopolis.
2002
The company’s compromising with its clients is very important for it to show confidence and add meanings to the different strategies that are developed thinking specifically in each case. This year, Grafia starts administrating Grendene’s brands: Melissa and Rider in the USA, producing content and e-commerce websites. The result of all this work was the prize won at Top 3 Ibest with Melissa’s website.
2003
Grafia wins again the Top 10 Ibest prize with Melissa. This year, the company starts working from a new address in Porto Alegre: Visconde do Rio Branco Street.
2004
With e-commerce operations working just fine and with the websites’ customization, Grafia starts working with Tropical Brasil to produce content and e-commerce websites. During the blogs “fever” period, the company produces the “Melissa Diaries”, a relations tool between the brand and its clients. Edlo Medical Products’ website becomes a new client. For the second consecutive year, Grafia conquers the Top 10 Ibest Prize with Melissa.
2005
Grafia takes over another brand of Grendene: Grendha, for the USA. For Grendha and later for Coza, specialized in accessories for the kitchen, content and e-commerce websites are produced. The same year, Imaginarium, a decoration label, launches its online shop directed by Grafia. Once again, Melissa’s website gets the company another Top 10 Ibest prize and a Silver prize in the Salão da Propaganda Gaúcha.
2006
In the byte to byte era one has to transform thoughts and ideas and mould them to the necessities of each new client. Grafia is proud of having an interactive relationship with its clients and with final costumers. The result of this politics in 2006 were the three prizes the company got: Top 10 Ibest with Melissa, 1st Prize Corporative Internet (retail category) with Melissa again and 1st Prize Corporative Internet (e-commerce category) with Coza. And two new accounts arrive: Pousada do Vigia and Pauta Assessoria.
2007
This year the company gets a new wind thanks to the quick growth of the Internet – 47% more surfers in comparison with the previous year. Grafia is mature enough to deal with this growing demand of new websites. During the first semester, six new clients come in: Guga Kuerten, Porto Brasil, Stanley, Uniagro, Vista Alegre and Vestibular Unisinos. During the second, as a result of well managed strategies, other five clients arrive: Prinstore, Suprasoy, Weinmann, Panvel and Freixenet.
